Throwing pots on the wheel is a skill that is not easy for most people to learn. It takes many weeks of practice to be able to competently make a pot. This class is to show the beginning potter the basics of wedging, centering, safety, cleaning, and possibly making a small vessel. After the initial 2 classes, the student is encouraged to watch videos, continue working in open studio time, or to sign up for other ceramics classes. A list of videos on beginning wheel throwing will be made available. Decorative techniques will be presented. Ages 15+.
Please bring a towel on Monday. Class fee includes cost of clay used in class. Additional 25# bags of clay are available for purchase for $20.
